Admission Requirements for Graduate Degree Programs
The Graduate Institute of National Development (NDI) offers graduate programs leading to the M.A. and Ph.D degrees. The Institute’s research and teaching profiles feature two disciplines: (1) Globalization and Technology Governance, focusing on the new risks and changes at all levels of society brought about by globalization. and (2) China and East Asian Studies, focusing on changing dynamics in East Asia with emphasis on the impact of China’s rise on the region. The Institute emphasizes inter-disciplinary research across the humanities and social sciences.
How to apply
Applicants should first complete the general application procedure for foreign students through the Office of International Affairs (OIA), National Taiwan University (http://www.oia.ntu.edu.tw). Completed applications must be submitted directly to OIA and should include:
M.A. Program

2. Study Plan (in Chinese)
3. Published articles or relevant academic reports (Optional)
Ph.D. Program

3. Master’s thesis and Chinese abstract

Required Credits to Graduate
M.A. Program
The minimum credit requirement for completion of the M.A. program is 28.
Ph.D. Program
The minimum credit requirement for completion of the Ph.D program is 27.
Foreign students are exempt from the oral and written entrance examinations; admission will be based on assessment of the application materials listed above.
